Strengthening the West African Sub-region's Defence Against Emerging and Re-emerging High-Priority Pathogens and Public Health Threats.
IVEPCR delivers diagnosis, research, training and outbreak response for Lassa fever and other high-consequence infectious diseases — from Irrua, Edo State, Nigeria.
A national reference centre for high-consequence pathogens.
Housed within Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, IVEPCR has, for nearly two decades, played a critical role in outbreak detection, laboratory confirmation, sequencing and clinical research across Lassa fever, Ebola, Mpox, Dengue, Yellow fever and other emerging viral threats.
Established in 2007 as the Institute of Lassa Fever Research and Control, today the Institute is a regional hub for diagnostics, research and outbreak response across West Africa.
